Portico
British School at Rome (2019)
I chose to present a quiet installation of small portraits made in Roman public spaces. Displayed on raw plywood supported by saw horses, the setup echoed the informal, observational nature of my process. The prints sat side by side—almost like a conversation—inviting viewers to come close and engage with each image intimately.
This exhibition reflected the way I moved through Rome that month: slowly, attentively, and without pretense. It also planted the seed for how I continue to think about exhibiting my work today—with humility, presence, and care.
