Domestic Dialogues at 187 Deptford High Street
The exhibition features large-scale medium-format prints, a newly published book, and audio recordings from the conversations that shaped each photograph. Together, they form a layered portrait of the intimate relationships people hold with the spaces they call their own.
At the heart of My Favourite Space lies a simple yet profound invitation: to reflect on where we feel most ourselves. Whether a room, a workshop, a van, or a street corner, each space in this project holds stories of identity, memory, and belonging. Photographed exclusively on the Hasselblad 500 C/M, each portrait and spatial image is the result of time spent listening, trusting, and carefully framing—not just visually, but emotionally.
In resisting the speed and spectacle of contemporary photography, this work values stillness, presence, and a mutual exchange between artist and subject. The analogue process slows everything down. With only 12 frames per roll, every image carries weight. Nothing is added, nothing removed. What remains are moments of quiet truth—visual echoes of conversations and the spaces where they unfolded.
The exhibition invites visitors to move slowly, to listen, and to see the everyday as meaningful. It is both a visual ethnography and a personal archive, where photography, architecture, and storytelling converge to ask: What makes a space ours?
A limited number of signed prints are available.
